road to darkwoods

road to darkwoods

This photo is just one of a never-ending stream of fantastic photos by someone on Flickr, whose handle is Fack to Bront. I am left speechless by the man's talent. Each new post makes me feel that I'll never achieve results like this - but only for a short while... The feeling is soon replaced by one of inspiration to keep plugging away, learning from guys like this, and finding ways to translate what I 'see' into what get's recorded and translated into the image. Go be wowed.

Autumn colours

With the kids (if that what we can still call two people over the age of 20) back at university, Judith and I are settling back into the daily round - work, work some more, unethusiastically concoct something to eat, work some more, sleep.

So it was pleasant on Sunday last to take a break and go for a short walk from home to see the autumn colours emerging. Inspired to shoot some pictures, I've posted a few on my Flickr site. http://www.flickr.com/photos/rowteight/

Uiscedwr - tales of the unexpected

Assuming anyone follows this blog, you'll have seen my photos taken at Fairport's Cropredy Convention in August. I featured some photos of Uiscedwr in particular as they were the reason Tom and I went to the gig.

Imagine my surprise when the latest edition of the Uiscedwr newsletter arrived with a link to this blog! And my photos described as "fab"! Here's the link if you are interested.

The more important news however was that Anna Esslemont, who leads the group, has been ill with Aplastic Anaemia and in Leeds hospital for treatment. I haven't seen anything to say how she's doing now, but if you haven't yet, get well soon Anna. We're waiting on the second album!

If, like me, you have no idea what the condition is, this website is very informative - The Aplastic Anaemia Trust.
