Is There Anybody There?

Yet again another great swathe of time has gone by since I last updated this blog.  So it is probably not surprising if nobody ever visits it.  Maybe I’ll have to get back into the habit, just as Judith seems to be tiring of her efforts in the blogosphere elsewhere.  We’ll see…..

Who Knows Where The Time Goes?

I can't believe I last updated this in 2007.... I know I've been busy and concentrating of Flickr, but this seems like an inordinate amount of time to have been away from Free Wheeling.

Anyhow, we are in to a new year now. We've had snow and cold weather, and there are now signs of spring. Snowdrops are out, the air is slightly warmer, and the days are definitely lengthening. To go with this spirit of new growth, I've posted a link on the right to my latest bit of personal growth - a Blurb book, published on line, and available for anyone to purchase at a modest price! So please, feel free (well, not free, but you know what I mean).

Not Keeping Up....

Well, it's several months since I made an entry here, isn't it? I've been spending all my time on Flickr, which meets all my online community needs, really. Still, on the off-chance that someone I know occasionally visits this blog, I'm just acknowledging it's existence. I will take some time to make fresh entries again in future. Honest!

How about this then? This illustrates the wonder that is Flickr for me. I post some comments on one person's photo stream. Another reads them a follows the link to my stream. Adds me as a contact. I go to check out their photos, and find astonishingly original photographic creations like this. Bliss.

As you may know, I'm an avid Flickr user and fan. This beautiful shot is by one of my contacts, Photofool. I think it's just incredible and I'm hugely envious of it.

John Tams at Folk on the Water 2006, Saul Canal Festival. John, Coral and I had a great weekend of folk and scorching sunshine, relieved by reasonably copious amounts of cider. Sue joined us for Sunday afternoon before having to dash back to London.

Stairway to heaven

or possibly not... This is an escalator in the Natural History Museum in London, in a huge hall, the sides of which are a planetary map. I like the way the various figures in the picture are intent on different things.

Judith and I spent the weekend in London, and saw Jane Eyre at a fringe theatre, had a nice meal in the evening, and spent Sunday morning in the NHM. The best thing in there was the Arctic exhibition, in which various artists who had gone together to the Arctic region interpreted the effect of global warming on the region in various media.
